What are Tenses?
Tenses play a circular role in the English language. It denotes the time an action takes place, whether sometime in the past, in the present, or will take some in the future. Present Continuous Tense with Urdu to English Examples

Parts of Tenses
There are two parts of tenses
- Active voice
- Passive voice
What is Active voice Tense?
When the subject of the sentence performs the verb’s action, we say that the sentence is in active voice. The sentence in active voice has a strong, direct, and clear tone.
Examples:
They have been living in this house for five years.
Are you working?
Ali drives the car.
Tayyaba washes the clothes.
The patient had died before the doctor came.
They have gone to school.
Since when has the rich man been taking a rest?
What is Passive voice Tense?
A sentence is in the passive voice, on the other hand when the subject is acted on by the verb. The passive voice is always constructed with a conjugated form of to be plus the verb’s past participle.
Examples:
This match will be played in Karachi.
The hospital will be inaugurated tomorrow.
Cotton will be grown in a larger area this year.
Steps will be taken to save the city.
The guests will be received at the bus stand.
Importance of Present Continuous Tense
As you can see the present continuous tense is most often used in English Grammar to describe a continuing action, something that is unfinished. This tense is also important since it is a simple sentence structure that can show actions or events that are happening right now, in the planned future, or sometimes even in the past.
Why should we learn Tenses?
You should always keep in mind that English is considered the official language in almost all world countries. Learning English has become a necessity today. By learning English you can easily grow yourself in practical life.
But the problem is that how will we improve our English? How can we earn money from this language? In this blog, I am going to tell you how we will do this. The first thing you should do is to learn English grammar and most importantly in grammar are Tenses.
The tenses are the most important part of the English language. If you want to write a correct sentence or wish to say something or want to speak English, you have to learn the tenses. Without learning Tenses you can’t be able to write a blog or write something. The English language has three main time divisions.
- Present Tense
- Past Tense
- Future Tense
But first of all, we are going to learn sentences and their parts
Parts of Sentences
There are two parts of sentences
Subject
Predicate
Subject
A subject is a part of the sentence that contains the person or thing acting in a sentence.
کہتے ہیں۔ Subject کسی فقرے میں جس جس چیز یا شخص کے بارے میں بات کی جا رہی ہو اسے
Examples of Subject
Ali plays football.
علی فٹ بال کھیلتا ہے۔
My sister making the food.
میری بہن کھانا بنا رہی ہے۔
Aslam offering the prayer.
اسلم نماز ادا کر رہا ہے۔
Predicate
Two types of predicate
- Object مفعول
- Verb فعل
Object مفعول
Definition:
In grammar, an object is a noun, pronoun, or noun phrase on which a verb acts. It falls at the end of the sentence and is governed by a verb or preposition.
اس شخص یا چیز کو کہتے ہیں جس پر کا م ہو رہا ہو۔ Object

Tayyaba washes the clean.
طیبہ قالین صاف کرتی ہے۔
Rameeza is going to market.
رامیز مارکیٹ کی طرف جا رہی ہے۔
Today, he is looking at her.
آج وہ اس کی طرف دیکھ رہا ہے۔
Verb
Definition:
A verb is a word or combination of words that indicates action or a state of being or condition. A verb is a part of the sentence that tells us what subject performs.
کا مطلب کا ہے کام یعنی دوسرے لظوں میں ایک ایسا لفظ ہوتا ہے جو کسی شخص یا چیز کے بارے میں یہ بتاتا ہے کہ وہ شخص یا چیز کیا ہے وہ کیا کرتا ہے یا اس کے ساتھ کیا ہورہا ہے۔
Examples of verb
They are playing football with their friends.
وہ اپنے دوستوں کے ساتھ فٹ بال کھیل رہے ہیں۔
Matloob is talking to his wife.
مطلوب اپنی بیوی کے ساتھ باتیں کر رہا ہے۔
Saira listens to me.
سارہ میری بات سنتی ہے

Present Continuous Tense فعل حال جاری
The Present Continuous verb tense, also known as the present progressive, is used to describe an action currently happening or maybe in the future.
پہچان :اردو فقروں کے آخر پر”رہا ہے، رہی ہے،رہا ہوں ،رہے ہیں،رہی ہوں ،رہی ہیں” وغیرہ آتا ہے۔
مثال
وہ گیت گا رہی ہے۔
وہ کام کررہی ہے۔
Sentence strcture for Simple sentence
Subject( Third person singular number)+ is, am, are + first form of verb+ing+ Object
Examples for Positive Sentences
Subject+ is, am , are+ first form of verb+ ing+ Object
The hen is laying eggs.
مرغی انڈے دے رہی ہے۔
I am making a map of Pakistan.
میں پاکستان کا نقشہ بنارہی ہوں۔
The milkman is milking.
گوالہ دودھ دوھ رہا ہے۔
The fishermen are catching fish.
ما ہی گیر مچھلیاں پکڑرہے ہیں۔
We are printing a new book.
ہم ایک نئ کتاب چھاپ رہے ہیں۔
This cloth is selling cheap.
یہ کپڑا سستا بک رہا ہے۔

بوندا باندی ہورہی ہے۔
I am taking a rest at this time.
میں اس وقت آرام کررہا ہوں۔
Smoke is rising out of the hearth.
دھواں چولہے سے اٹھ رہا ہے۔
We are collecting old coins.
ہم پرانے سکے جمع کررہے ہیں۔
I am feeling dizzy.
مجھے چکر آرہے ہیں۔
He is diving into the river.
وہ دریا میں غوطے لگا رہا ہے۔
Bilal is harvesting wheat.
بلال گندم کاٹ رہا ہے۔
The woman is boiling milk.
عورت دودھ ابال رہی ہے۔
He is reading various kinds of books.

I am writing articles on different topics.
میں مختلف عنوان پر آرٹیکل لکھ رہا ہوں۔
We are coming for shopping in this market.
ہم اس بازار میں خریداری کرنے کے لیے آرہے ہین۔
You are shopping in that market.
آپ اس بازار میں خریداری کر رہے ہیں۔
We are watching the movie in this Cineplex.
ہم اس سینپلکس میں فلم دیکھ رہے ہیں۔
I am singing different kinds of songs, especially modern ones.
میں طرح طرح کے گانے گا رہا ہوں، خاص کرکے جدید۔
He is traveling around the world.
وہ ساری دنیا کا سفر کر رہا ہے۔
They are playing cricket on that field.
وہ اس گراؤنڈ میں کھیل رہے ہیں۔
The poet is writing romantic poems.
شاعر رومانوی نظمیں لکھ رہا ہے۔
She is drinking coffee.
وہ کافی پی رہی ہے۔
He is going to school.
وہ سکول جا رہا ہے۔
Sentence strcture for Negative Sentences
Subject( Third person singular number)+ is, am, are + not + first form of verb+ing+ Object
Rickshaw is not coming this way.
رکشا اس طرف نہیں آرہا ہے۔
People are not going to the airport.
لوگ ہوائ اڈے پر نہیں جارہے ہیں۔
I am not telling him the secret.
میں اس کو راز نہیں بتا رہا ہوں۔

ہم جائیداد تقسیم نہیں کررہے ہیں۔

وہ خطرے کا سامنا بہادری سے نہیں کررہا ہے۔
I am not wasting time.
میں وقت ضائع نہیں کررہا ہوں۔
The driver is not driving the car fast.
ڈرائیور موٹر کار تیز نہیں چلارہا ہے۔

لڑکیاں تتلیاں نہیں پکڑرہی ہیں۔

عائشہ اپنی کتابیں نہیں پڑھ رہی ہے۔
